Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Betty collects, how we use it, and your rights around it. It applies to the Betty web application and any related services.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the service, we don't sell your data, and you can take it with you or delete it at any time.

Account and business information — your name, email address, business name, business type, address, and phone number. Collected when you sign up or update your settings.

Business data you create — customers, invoices, quotes, jobs, expenses, transactions, and mileage logs. This is the core content of your account.

Receipt photos and files — images you upload for expense receipts or inventory items, stored in private cloud storage.

Payment information — we don't store your card details. Payments are handled directly by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment was made and your Stripe customer ID.

Usage data — basic information about how you use the app (pages visited, features used) to help us improve the product. We don't sell this data or use it for advertising.

• To process receipt images with AI to pre-fill expense details
• To send you account-related notifications (billing, security)
• To improve and debug the product

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

Betty uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Your account credentials and uploaded files are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy.

Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions and Stripe Payment Links on invoices. Stripe handles all card data directly. Stripe Privacy Policy.

Resend — transactional email delivery (invoice emails, quote emails, staff invitations). Resend Privacy Policy.

Anthropic — AI receipt scanning. When you photograph a receipt using the AI scan feature, the image is sent to Anthropic's API to extract the amount, date, merchant, and category. Only the receipt image is shared, and only when you explicitly use that feature. Anthropic Privacy Policy.

Vercel — web hosting and serverless functions. Vercel Privacy Policy.

When you add customers to Betty, you're storing their personal information (name, email, phone, address) on our platform. You are responsible for having the right to store that data and for complying with any applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction.

Your customer data is only used to provide the Service to you. We do not contact your customers for any purpose other than to deliver emails you explicitly send through Betty (invoices, quotes).

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account and request deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), private file storage with signed URLs, and authentication managed through Supabase. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions and will notify you promptly if a breach affects your account.

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. Most of this is available directly in the app (Settings, Reports). To request full account deletion or a data export, email us at hello@getbetty.app.

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
